Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is a programme which is designed to assist you in reducing stress and anxiety by learning new ways of managing your difficult feelings, moods and physical sensations. It teaches greater understanding of our thoughts, feelings and sensations through simple techniques such as meditation and gentle movement.

The programme is based on the MBSR course developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in the USA, as well as the Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) course developed by Zindel Segal, Mark Williams and John Teasdale at the Universities of Cambridge and Toronto. The two approaches are very closely related.

In this 8 week Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR) course you will learn:

A way to stay in touch with the present, the here and now and be
less caught up in negative thought patterns

A way to to develop more helpful responses to stress and anxiety

A way to use simple meditation techniques such as breathing exercises
and gentle movement, which can transform your daily life

Sally-Ann has several years experience of meditation practice and is committed to making the benefits of mindfulness more widely known and experienced.
